Founded in 1926 by Francis Karr, the Spring Air Mattress Company was made famous by its patented mattress design, which features a free-end offset coil structure that changes based on the weight of the individual sleeper. Although the design has been imitated by many mattress manufacturers since its initial creation, the Spring Air Company itself is just the fourth largest mattress manufacturer, behind Serta, Simmons and Sealy. There are several different Spring Air mattress lines available including the Back Supporter, ComfortFlex, Four Seasons, Posture Comfort and Sleep Fitness. Within the individual product lines are mattresses in various comfort levels including firm, plush and pillow top. While there are no memory foam or latex offerings in their lineup, there are plenty of options within the spring and coil lines to satisfy just about any sleeper.

Perhaps the most well known line produced by Spring Air is their Back Supporter line of mattresses. The mattresses feature a foam layer that is designed to relieve pressure from the back, shoulders and hips. Some models within the Spring Air Back Supporter mattress line even feature a certain amount of latex foam, which is renowned for its unique supportive properties. Latex is somewhat similar to memory foam in that it reduces pressure at the source and redistributes it to other areas within the material itself. The Back Supporter line is available in three different price ranges – the Value Collection, Total Balance Collection and the Four Seasons collection. The Value Collection is the most basic and features knit fabrics, zoned coils and an eco-friendly base. The Total Balance and Four Seasons collection include foam encasing, premium fabrics and a denser coil set.

Apart from their dedication toward producing quality mattresses, the Spring Air Company has made a commitment to the environment and now produces all of their mattress bases to be carbon neutral. Spring Air believes that this method of manufacturing is better for the consumer as well. To take things a bit further, the company only uses natural materials and natural latex foam.
