Many people find sleeping a problem, particularly in the summer months. Dawn starts remarkably early and the rays of sunshine force us to think it is morning when in fact a few hours of extra sleep could be had. In the past people often had to pin old blankets up at the windows to restrict the amount o light that came into the room. This was obviously not an ideal solution. Shift workers often rely on them to create some form of normality to their sleep and light sleepers really do benefit from the extra few hours they gain in the summer.
