Orange Bedding Can Bring Warmth to the Bedroom

Most of us cannot bear the thought of purchasing orange sheets and pillow cases for the bedroom.  The very thought of an orange comforter is enough to make many of us go back to the basics.  However, as spring is about to arrive it is time to bring some brightness to our winterized bedrooms.

Orange bedding is now available in a variety of shades that will go with many bedroom decors.  No longer are orange sheets, pillow cases and comforters just for the University of Texas or University of Tennessee fans.  Orange has made its way into modern fashion decor and will add a touch of spice to the bedroom.

When most of us think of orange we think only in terms of the color that showed up in our first box of Crayolas.  That may have been the starting point, but orange has found a variety of shades and hues that will work well with many bedrooms.  Think in terms of peach or coral.  Or, perhaps consider bedding that has an orange background and a predominantly white pattern.

One of the best combinations today is orange with purple or orange with pinks and reds.  It is quite necessary to be sure to select the proper shades of each color if it is to be pleasing to the eye.  Some of us may shy away from the idea of reaching for a color palette that is beyond our comfort zone.  It does take a bit of nerve for those of us who seem to linger among the tried and true.

Before investing in orange bedding decide on the look you want.  Are you looking for orange tropical bedding?  If so, look for large floral patterns and bold stripes.  Select one of the more subtle colors in the pattern for the walls and accessories.

If you are one of us who enjoy solid blocks of color in the bedroom without all the busy patterns, it is best to begin by selecting the colors you find most complementary to the shade or orange you have selected.  Get a sample of the orange and take a trip to Home Depot or Lowe’s.  Using paint chip samples is a great way to determine which colors you prefer.

Whether the selection is for large floral prints in orange or subtle floral designs on an orange background, or maybe for the more basic solid colors, consider bringing some warmth into the bedroom with the heat of the color orange.
