There are many great brand names, designs and styles of kids beds on the market, so it should not be hard to find something that suits your tastes and is affordable for you. One thing that is very important to remember when buying this is to choose something that is easily washed, as you will most likely be washing their bedding more often than you would your own.
Kids bedding is made from a variety of materials such as cotton, flannel, wool, silk, nylon, acrylic and polyester. Cotton is a good choice as it is durable and easy to wash, although for winter, wool would be a good option.
If the child or children are old enough, you could try including them in the shopping. Ask them what designs they like; it is quite possible that they would want something with the latest cartoon characters on it so you should be aware of the fact that bedding featuring Disney or other cartoon characters is a bit more expensive than regular kids bedding. JoJo and Kidsline both make some sets that are under $100; if you have the budget for it, their more expensive sets are quite nice and range in price from $100 – $140.
Make sure that the kid bedding you buy will match well with the color of the room and the curtains. No matter how nice the bedding is, it will not look nice in the room if the color scheme or design clashes with other items in the room. Also, make sure to double check what size of bedding you need as kids bedding is made in king, queen, full, twin and twin extra-long sizes.
