Many of us love the color green for its freshness and links to nature and it has a calming effect on us which is wonderful for a bedroom. Although it can be a cold color it does not have to be if softened with cream or white and other neutrals and combined with delicate floral prints. Here are some ways to use green successfully in your bedroom.
1. Green as a Background
Paint your walls in fresh green to bring a touch of spring to your room. Add a white bedding ensemble which has a delicate lace or embroidery trim and then top your bed with beautiful scatter cushions in white with green embroidery or pretty plaids or florals incorporating the green color of the walls along with pink and white. A white vase of spring flowers would set off this romantic look beautifully.
2. Green Paintwork
Leave your walls white but pick out the framework of windows and doors in fresh green. Paint a couple of cheap wooden bedside tables in the same color and use it to paint an old chest of drawers too. Leave the flooring neutral with sanded and sealed floorboards and a fluffy ivory rug or use beige carpet or neutral colored oak wood flooring. Use plain white bedding on your bed and white and green curtains tied back with ribbon matching the color of the paintwork. This room will have quite a country feel to it, so some plaid or floral green and white cushions would be the perfect accessory for your bed.
3. Green Bedding
Look for a bed in a bag which incorporates your favorite shade of green and use the colors from it to create your whole color scheme with the brightest notes for accent colors and the most neutral for floors and walls. Often these bedding sets come with accessories such as cushions and a comforter or throw but, if not, you can look for accessories which match the colors in the bedding fabric.
