A resin antler chandelier is a chandelier that is made out of synthetic material. Based on this naughty piece of information you should be able to tell the difference between a resin one and that which is made from natural deer antlers. Whilst most manufacturers are using resin designs because of ecological factors this does not mean they are not worth the price. If anything a chandelier is a chandelier. But before buying one it is important that you know something about them.
Because a resin antler chandelier lighting is made from resin it is actually light in terms of weight. Resin is a synthetic material worlds apart in terms of quality when compared to natural antlers. Naturally shed antlers are made from bony material derived straight from nature. But even these original antlers differ in quality, so it eventually boils down to a selection based on personal preferences.
There are different grades of antlers as a way of distinguishing between a good and bad quality chandelier. Grade 1 chandeliers are certainly shinier than the most other grades and they do not have any cracks in their deep interior structure.
Grade 2 chandeliers are certainly slightly less inferior in quality and they have a few cracks, perhaps negligible. On the other hand Grade 3 and 4 pieces are low in quality. Generally these Grade 3 chandeliers will have holes, a lot more cracks than Grade 2 pieces and they have chew marks on them.
Another area of distinction between natural antlers and resin antlers is when it comes to color and variation. Manufactured pieces are uniform in design and color, with very little variation if there is any at all. So do not go to the store hoping to see a wide selection of forms and colors as there won’t be that many to take note of.
